1978
Nohr Pattern Inc. was founded in 1978 in Beloit, Wisconsin on the principles of making quality tooling at a fair price in the most efficient manner.
1984
In 1984, Don’s son, Jim, joined Nohr pattern as an apprentice in training. Jim worked under Don’s guidance for over 30 years instilling the guiding principles of quality, service, and delivery.
1992
In 1992, Nohr pattern purchased and installed a Milltronics Partner 1 CNC and Jim learned CAD/CAM programming after being a traditional patternmaker for 8 years.
2005
In 2005, the Milltronics CNC was replaced with a Hurco VM1, which provided more rigity and faster feedrates.
In 2006, Nohr Pattern purchased and installed a Hurco VMX50 which expanded their machine capacity and size up to a 50x26x24.
2012
In 2012, the business expanded when the company purchased and renovated an 8,500 square foot building at 1011 Elaine Drive in Beloit, Wisconsin. This acquisition of the new shop more than doubled the previous space which provided almost 15000 square feet of total manufacturing space. Additional capital investments in machinery and other equipment expanded output even more.
2013
In 2013, the purchase an installation of a Haas VF8 further expanding the capacity to 64x40x30.
2018
In 2018, Jim Nohr took over operations and rebranded the company as Nohr, LLC. and currently operates with 3 CNC machines and a 12′ Romer Arm with Laser Scanner added to the core operations.
Jim also partners with local school districts and technical schools to offer tours of the shop so students can learn how patterns, castings, and machining are integrated and encourage students to consider working in the field.
2021
In 2021, the company purchased and installed a Haas VM3 providing a dedicated CNC for metal.
2022
The purchase of a Haas VF8 will double the large machine capacity.
2023
Nohr LLC has purchased Dick’s Pattern Inc effective July 24, 2023. Click here to read the announcement.
